Charlottesville Insider

You can do a lot of eating, drinking, touring and dancing in a town like Charlottesville, but if you want to try something totally new, check out the options below- this town has something new to do at every turn.

Jump. off 29 N.

Rumor has it that Bill Gates has a trampoline room- and now you can, too. Jump Cville is a 20,000 indoor trampoline park with over 8,000 square feet of connected trampolines, trampoline walls, a foam pit, and a ninja warrior course. Grab some friends, some closed-toed shoes, and get jumping.

Pro tips: Waivers can be signed online and are good for a year, which means you can skip the waiver station and maximize your time in the air. Jump is pretty popular, especially while students are in town, so reserve your jump time in advance online here.

Escape Rooms

C’Ville Escape Room on the Downtown Mall

This independently owned escape room is right on the Downtown Mall, and guarantees an experience you can’t get anywhere else, since they design all their own puzzles. Family friendly and easy to get to, they are usually only open on Friday nights and weekends, but might open up on a weekday if you arrange it in advance! Some of their standout room include a Dark Circus, a Jack the Ripper Room, and, for fans of Benedict Cumberbatch or Arthur Conan Doyle, a Sherlock case.

            Unlocked History on Allied Street

Spend the day at Monticello, and the evening testing your historical smarts in the Unlocked History “The British Are Coming” escape room, where you’ll work to escape and warn Thomas Jefferson of the impending arrival of British Soliders; or search for Lenore in “The Raven,” their new Edgar Allen Poe themed room. Rooms hold up to 8.

Want to get out on the mountain, but the weather isn’t cooperating? Routes change frequently, all gear is available for rent at a very reasonable price, and day passes are just $15. Enjoy mentally & physically challenging boulder climbs for every skill level.

Skydive Orange

For real thrill-seekers. This one is a little bit out of the way, but totally worth the trip. Skydive Orange is the largest tandem skydiving center in Northern Virginia (read: great for first-timers, beginners, and those who want to jump without taking charge of all the bells and whistles) just 30 miles outside of Charlottesville. Definitely book in advance!
