🥃 📚There’s a secret room 🤫 in the basement of @oldmetropolitanhall ready for you to host your next small gathering. Impress your friends with one of the coolest “hidden” spaces in Charlottesville! In true speakeasy fashion, gather privately for football watch parties, monthly meetings, or lunches/dinners with access to the lounge with comfortable furniture, 55” TV, audio system, private restroom, and bar!
Old Metropolitan Hall offers this space (up to 18 guests), as well as the upstairs Ballroom (up to 40 guests) from 11am Sunday-Thursday for bridal and baby showers, company meetings, and other smaller gatherings.
🍕🍺 Did you know Random Row Brewing Co. serves up some of the best pizza in town? Sip on a delicious pint of Mosaic Pale Ale while you wait for your Neopolitan-style made-to-order pie to come hot out of their stone oven. We recommend their crispy cupped pepperoni pie drizzled with honey, or if you prefer a white base, try their Ricotta and Mushroom pizza. And almost too good to be true, they offer half-off all pizza orders every Tuesday.
@randomrowbrewing does Trivia at 5pm every Sunday if you’re looking for something fun for this evening!
🍺 Three Notch’d is coming soon to Nelson County! Brite tanks were just moved in and things are moving along at the new space, the old Wild Wolf facility. The property in Nellysford sits on 13 picturesque acres at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The @threenotchdbeer team has invested heavily in renovating the property, such as establishing a connection to public water treatment facilities, which will give the brewery over 500k bbls annually of clean water fed straight from the mountain.
From CEO George Kastendike, “Breaking the constraints of capacity is the first step in realizing our vision to expand Three Notch'd beyond beer, diversifying our portfolio across beverage categories."
Opening Spring 2023! 😀 Follow @threenotchd151!

🎨 We had so much fun catching up with Lindsay Heider Diamond, our featured artist of the month, back as a resident artist at @mcguffeyartcenter in studio 16b after some years away. @lindsayhdiamond.art is currently exploring landscape painting of local areas for a show at @thecentercville in Charlottesville in January of 2024. She will be honing in on her focus for the next 12 months - playing with ways of conveying her own interpretations of landscapes, showing the power and the beauty she sees in them. In her spare time Lindsay is a graphic designer and illustrator (@lindsayhdiamond.design)
and also works with a non-profit she co-founded called @authorsinside, publishing the work of incarcerated authors. Lindsay taught art locally for 10 years, but is now focusing on painting and design this year with hopes to push herself into new ways of painting. Scroll through to see Lindsay's work, and some video clips of our studio visit!
🖼️ Insider tip: @mcguffeyartcenter has open studios, meaning that anytime a studio door is open, you are welcome and encouraged to enter and talk to the artists!
❤️🍫 @mountidareserve is all decorated and ready for Valentine's Day! Bring a date or your best Galentines to the tasting room this February for a festive atmosphere and great photo op!
🍳☕️ The Boar’s Head Resort’s Mill Room is now serving a daily breakfast buffet! 7am-10:30am daily, extended hours on Saturdays and Sundays.
🍽️ From the Mill Room’s menu: “It’s often said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and we could not agree more. We cook with local, cage free chicken, Kite’s Ham, Edwards Sausage, our own garden grown produce, Meadow Creek Dairy and offer gluten-free options.”
If you haven't been to the Mill Room, it is certainly worth checking out for breakfast or a nice dinner out! Easy parking, elegant but cozy atmosphere, and delicious food by executive chef Jim Anile!
